Chiropractic in sports
With all the hype from The State of Origin games going on this month, TASC has been thinking about the affect sports has on the spine. Did you know at least one-third of professional rugby players have suffered spinal injuries equivalent to those of a car-crash victim? It’s been shown that high-impact sports can place the same amount of strain on the body as an auto collision.
Regardless of the sport, having good spinal health as an athlete is vital to one’s overall wellbeing. Having good spinal health can improve performance, prevent injury and allow quicker recovery time if injury does occur. Chiropractic care is a great way for athletes to improve their spinal health without seeking surgery or drugs.
In addition to assisting an athlete to reach higher levels of overall performance, many report that ongoing chiropractic care can offer benefits such as:
- Better focus and concentration
- Improved posture
- Increased Range of Motion
- Reduced risk of injury
- Reduced pain in major joints
- Better Flexibility
- Reduced Stressed
Chiropractic is a great way to keep progressing with your sport, fitness or exercise. Just as regular exercise is eneficial to our health, so are regular chiropractic adjustments. Many seek chiropractic treatment only after they suffered an injury. However, research shows that sporting injuries, such as hamstring injuries, could be reduced through the inclusion of chiropractic care to one’s daily life. It is for these many reasons that many top performing athletes around the world are receiving Chiropractic care to aid their performance and give them the ‘edge’ to their winning ways.
